Experienced Line Cook/Chef For the experienced Line Cook/Chef, you'll be expected to have a wide range of skills, willing and able to help in different parts of the kitchen - hot, cold, prep. We are looking for an ambitious Cook to assist in the production of dish components in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be expected to be deft, able to follow instructions and all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. You should be able to undertake a varied list of food preparation for the kitchen on a daily basis (European and Filipino dishes). The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to a maximum capacity of 40 covers at a time. For events, such as intimate weddings, our maximum capacity is 80 covers. Responsibilities: Following the prep list created by chefs to plan duties. Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines. Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef. Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. Able to prepare different type of breakfast egg preparations and methods. Able to prepare both Filipino and European Cuisine. Able to handle different cooking methods such as frying, poaching, grilling and roasting. Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally. Hours of work are normally from about 7am to 10pm, with breaks in-between, and staff housing is available for staying in. Breakfast service is from 8-10am, Lunch is from 12nn-2pm, Dinner is from 6-9pm. Carry out any other duties as required by management. Prerequisites: Passion for cooking. Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant/hotel. Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen. Manual dexterity to be able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Friendly outgoing personality along with excellent personal presentation. Able to tackle every task given to you with the highest levels of enthusiasm. Be an excellent team player with good communication skills. Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure. Education: University Graduate. Culinary training or vocational course will be an asset. Experience: 1 to 4 years of experience in full service or branded hotels or restaurants. Relevant experience gained in a similar environment is desirable. Salary: Dependent on level of experience. Looking for candidates within the Php 16,000 to 20,000 monthly salary range.
